My work recalls journeys to places, times and special moments assembled with paint, stain, ink, paper and printmaking. My family traveled across the United States and a large part of my childhood was assimilating into the different regions.  My travels helped me appreciate different cities and natural environments. I developed an interest in preserving and cleaning up the landscape whether it was urban or rural. I bring these experiences to a surface through a series of geometrical shapes and symbols in a composition of contained elements. The materials I choose to include give each a special marker key to that event. These places and changes in the environment influenced my outlook. I have composed my work by assembling colors and shapes. My images continue to weave in and out of my changing perspective. Maps, tables, birds, flowers, water and patterns are all symbols of my journeys and the challenges faced in each.
